About the role

My Islam Tutor is an online Qur'an academy serving Muslim families in the UK, US, and beyond. Every tutor at the academy is a qualified woman — it is the foundation the academy is built on, and the reason families choose us.

We are looking for a dedicated female Nazra tutor to teach Qur'an reading with correct tajweed, one-on-one, to children of families based abroad. Lessons are held online, and every class is paced to the individual child — from building confidence with the letters to fluent, accurate recitation.

You will teach through a purpose-built platform that handles scheduling, progress tracking, and parent communication for you, supported by a warm and professional team. All students and parents communicate in English.

What you'll do

  • Conduct engaging one-on-one Nazra lessons
  • Track and record each student's progress in the academy platform
  • Communicate professionally with parents via the platform
  • Maintain punctual attendance for scheduled classes
  • Follow the academy's curriculum and safeguarding standards

Who we're looking for

In order of priority.

  1. 1Fluent spoken and written English — essential; all students and parents communicate in EnglishEssential — top priority
  2. 2Female (the academy exclusively employs female tutors)
  3. 3Strong command of tajweed rules with clear, correct recitation
  4. 4Experience teaching Qur'an reading to children online
  5. 5Reliable high-speed internet, a quiet teaching environment, headset and webcam
  6. 6Patient, warm, and professional manner with young learners

Nice to have

  • Ijazah in recitation
  • Prior experience with international / Western-based students
  • Familiarity with online teaching tools

Compensation

Competitive hourly rate, paid monthly — based on qualifications and experience.
